Sarah and Scott flew into Nashville from Delaware, rented a car and drove to Green Turtle Bay to spend a 4-day holiday weekend with us on Random Plan.
It was truly a blessing to reconnect with them and catch up on everything that’s going on in our lives. The day before they arrived, Sarah taught her first college class, and it was really fun to hear every detail of her new adventure. It was a big success!
On Saturday night, we anchored in Demumber’s Bay. Even though it was Labor Day weekend, only one other boat was in sight as the sun set.
While the evening was beautiful, a powerful thunderstorm woke us all at 4am and then kept getting worse.
We were all checking the radar on our phones, in the dark! Lightning was illuminating a pitch black night, and the boat was shaking from the thunder a couple of times. But the anchor held tight.
We survived it, and Sunday turned out to be another great day. First things first….Ellie went to shore with Mike in the Ellie P.
Sunday we moved to Lake Barkley State Park Marina, and spent the night at the dock there.
Monday, Labor Day, we headed back to our home marina, Green Turtle Bay.
Tuesday morning breakfast and Dockers, and it was time to head home.
The fall allergy season was in full swing.
